When summer is over and school has begun again, you can expect to find new and exciting projects happening in the elementary art room. We have been drawing, painting, collaging, sculpting with clay, using paper mache, and much more. In art, our projects may last anywhere from one day (like some of the Kinderartists' work) to a whole quarter (the 7th grade's paper mache animal sculptures). We learn about color mixing, different artists, ways to make art, different tools, and art history. I am available 99% of the time to stay after school with any student who would like to make up missed work from absences or who would like to raise their grade if they feel the need. Just ask! :) The most important thing in art class is NOT to be the best artist, but to give your best EFFORT. The art room is a place of encouragement and growth, never a contest. Students who come into class with an eagerness to begin the next project and who try their best will do wonderfully! Feel free to visit the artroom anytime- we are always creating something new!
